RE: Hatch combination locks

I've had mine installed for about a year on my ww. I am very happy with them. I'm actually gonna buy a few more to finish off the trailer. I bought mine HERE for a few bucks less.

RE: WW BK?????

Giant RV & WW have been "sleeping" together for many-many years. Giant could possibly be some of the reason for WW's recent issues. If ww did declare bk it doesn't necessarily mean they will disappear. Quite possibly they will re-organize.

RE: Did the WW recall myself

Nice work, self initiative, probably a better finished product & less negative posts !!

RE: XPS Tires on Toy Hauler?

Curious Question about the XPS RIBS, These tires are the all steel radials meaning steel belts in the side walls, right? I am guessing that you would destroy these tires if you aired them down to 15-20 PSI in the dunes. Do you guys air them down? I was considering the BFG Commercials for this reason. Am I off base? Why would you air down your trailer tires? I've been dune'n for 20 years and can't remember ever airing down our trailer tires or anyone else in our group. As far as the XPS' go, we've had ours for a little over a year now. They are awesome, the trailer rides and tows much better. Our trailer is a triple axle WW Cl that is very heavy even empty, and we've had it loaded with absolutely no problems. They are an excellent tire, pricey, but well worth the dollars.

RE: "new Toy hauler"

I have a WW Cl w/ 2 slides if interested. It's an awesome trailer.

RE: Weekend Warrior Warranty Work Scheduled

Our warranty was up in Jan '08. When I called in Dec we were unable to make arrangements prior to our warranty expiration. WW honored all warranty work even though it was technically expired.

Lighting Rodd

Due to the high rise in propane costs, I purchased and installed a 110v hot water heater rod. So now we have a gas and propane water heater. We are planning several trips to the lake this summer that have full hook-ups, so no extra cost to heat the water because we are plugged into power. So far it has worked very well.

RE: Weekend Warrior Warranty is Gone

I'm not worried. WW has been around many years, they didn't just appear on scene in the last few years, like most th's. All rv mfg's are having issues right now. Winnebago posted something like a 74% decrease in prod over last year. Also, many-many newbies have bought ww in the last few yrs. and started crying and posting all their gripes all over the internet instead of going straight to the source first, ww, for answers. I've owned a ww since 1996, on my third now (and am currently at the lake).

RE: SSSS

I bet it won't be as big this year. Lotta the "fly-by-night" mfg's are gonna disappear, which is fine IMO. I will be there.

RE: Cost to switch from one 12 volt to two 6 volt batteries

I got two trojans for around $130 each, out the door a couple of weeks ago. The mfg's always charge more. Not hard at all to do it yourself.

RE: WW Email Address

That was gonna be my suggestion, just call the 1-800# and ask them.

RE: surge protector

After my electrician finished installing the electrical pedestal (which is wired correct) at home, I decided I wanted a shorter, more manageable shore cord for home. I've wired 50a circuits and 220. I must have had a bit too many "cold daddy's" prior to making the connections. The way I wired it, I sent 220v to one leg of the rv, taking out my refridge & xantrex inverter. Luckily xantrex fixed it under warranty because it was only a fuse. Dometic is onky covering a small portion of the refridge, the rest comes out of my pocket. I am now looking at the Progressive surge/voltage protector.

RE: 6v Battery setup help

Whats the purpose of a battery box anyway? Cars don't have 'em. I believe; 1) to catch any liquid that may spill/leak out. 2) they should have a top on them to fully enclose them and have a hose that vents them to the outside of the trailer to keep any fumes from getting near a spark or into the interior of the trailer #2 makes sense, I wasn't thinking about it that way. my batteries in now way interfere with the interior of the coach, but i'm sure some do. good point

RE: Installing 2nd AC in BR

We have a 40' WW, with an Onan marquis 5500 gennie, with a dometic 15k ac from thefactory in the rear. I installed a second dometic 15k in the bedroom which was pre-wired. The Onan manual says the 5500 will run 2 15k ac's, which it does no problem. Super simple install, hardest part was getting the ac on the roof. I used my neighbors forklift in exchange for installing his bedroom ac.

RE: 2 story hauler

I wouldn't consider that much of a toy hauler. It has a very small area for any cargo. Seems like it would be hott in the summer, no ac, and cold in the winter.

RE: EZ-Up Canopies

EZ-UP Speed Shelter We have the speed shelter. Have had it about 3 years, its awesome. We went with the ez-up speed for several reasons, our canopy is not the same color as every other wal-mart, big 5, costco etc canopy. That is a plus when your out on the lake trying to find your camp or having someone else try and find you. It's not square, gives you more "lakefront" when everyone wants to get out of the sun. It's not super heavy, my wife and daughter can set up and move around on their own.The canopy top is held on by screws in a couple areas, so if the wind does unexpectedly pick up, it won't pull off the top. some brands a use velcro. We also bought a couple end walls which help keep the sun off when your not able to position it exactly where needed. Yeah, it was bit pricey but for the reasons listed we felt it was worth it.

RE: 50 Amp Auto Transfer Switch Recommendation

Look Here All of them have a delay for transfering from Gen,Shore or Inverter. I'm running 2 transfer switchs with 6 6v GC batterys. John Drakes a pretty cool old guy, give him a try. You call him and tell him what you need and he'll have that thing to you the next day. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e24/jakridge1/P9230002.jpg Whats the reason for 2 trans switches? We have 1 iota and it works fine.
